About Us

The Directorate for Science for Social Transformation has the general objective of evaluating and monitoring that research is developed in accordance with policies of equity, inclusion, social Reciprocity, multilingualism, dialogue of knowledges, and Open Access; furthermore, observing scientific integrity and the guidelines established by the University’s Research Ethics Committee and the relevant provisions in the field.

  • Aims to bring scientific knowledge closer to society at large and promote active citizen participation in research processes.
  • Image design for events hosted by the Secretariat of Science.
  • Social media management for the Secretariat of Science, including content creation for promotion.
  • Recording and editing scientific videos.
    Support in dissemination of research results.
  • Audiovisual and photographic coverage of scientific, academic, and outreach events.
  • Production of graphic and digital materials for institutional scientific communication (posters, infographics, etc.).
  • Management of logistics, communication and outreach before, during, and after events to ensure wide participation and visibility.
  • Design and execution of scientific outreach programs oriented toward non-specialized audiences.
  • Development of accessible materials and content (videos, infographic, etc.).
  • Coordination and promotion of citizen science projects, facilitating voluntary social participation in the collection, analysis, and dissemination of scientific data.
  • Establishment of partnerships with social, educational, and community organizations to implement science activities in real-world contexts.

Aims to foster the diverse and equitable participation of all sectors of the university and external community in scientific activities, eliminating barriers and promoting inclusive environments.

  • Issuance of calls for proposals for students and researchers.
  • Streamlining the translation of scientific outreach into open and multilingual format for infographics, videos, etc.
  • Desing and implementation of policies, programs, and campaigns that promote inclusion and equity in science and technology.
  • Identification, reduction, and monitoring of access barriers (economic, cultural, linguistic, gender, disability, etc.) in scientific outreach activities.
  • Promotion of participation among underrepresented groups (women, indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, rural communities) in scientific events, workshops, and programs.
  • Generation and dissemination of statistics and diagnostics regarding inclusive participation in science within UAEMéx and its collaborative networks.
  • Integration of training and awareness-raising on diversity and equity topics for scientific communicators, researchers, and facilitators.

Aims to organize, coordinate, and enhance events that inspire scientific vocations and strengthen the culture of science within the university community.

  • Planning and organization of events and activities for the Secretariat of Sciences (congresses, seminars, exhibitions, ceremonies, etc.) across various fields such as health, social sciences, medicine, sciences, and humanities.
  • Logistical coordination of in-person, virtual, and hybrid activities.
  • Support for the various directorates and departments in the execution of their activities.
  • Design of vocational guidance programs in science and technology aimed at high school students, undergraduate/graduate students, and the general public.
  • Logistical support for Academic Spaces upon request for the realization of academic-scientific events.
  • Organization and logistics of initiatives such as postgraduate fairs, International Day of Women and Girls in Science, SNII recognition ceremonies, and COMECYT beneficiary exhibitions focused on researchers.
  • Establishment of links with high schools, facilitating visits, activities, and workshops that promote scientific careers.
  • Coordination of the participation of researchers, students, and outreach professionals as speakers in science events and fairs.

Organization of the Master’s and Doctoral Degree Investiture Ceremony, celebrating the graduates of UAEMéx.

  1. First, the invitation for participation in the Master’s and Doctoral Degree Investiture Ceremony is issued.
  2. Graduates of UAEMéx Master’s and Doctoral programs who have not previously participated in an investiture ceremony for the same degree may participate, once they previously register their information and submit the required documentation within the dates specified in the invitation.
  3. To participate in the ceremony, interested parties must complete the institutional regalia rental process (mozzeta, gown, and mortarboard) at the University Store [Translator’s Note: Tienda Universitaria in Spanish].
  4. Furthermore, participants must remain attentive to the logistical instructions communicated to them in a timely manner.
  5. Participants must arrive at the date, time and location established by the Secretariat of Science logistics team for their attendance at the ceremony.
